My Activity

Reviewed Balsamic-Glazed Salmon

"I was very pleasantly surprised by the flavor of this dish. Glaze took longer than 12 minutes to thicken up, and I added in a little corn starch, and was VERY potent. Somebody had mentioned to add a little soy sauce in with it, and THAT did the trick. Maybe half a tablespoon, a little less, I just winged it. I also squeezed some lemon over the "

Reviewed Spinach Salad with Sweet Roasted Pecans and Gorgonzola with Sherry Shallot Vinaigrette

"I was all set to not like this honestly, I really was. I was very surprised when everything was put together how much I enjoyed it. I couldn't find sherry vinegar at my local store, so I did what another reviewer did and used half red wine vinegar and half balsamic (probably a little more balsamic than red wine. The pecans were amazing, and the"

Reviewed Beef Brisket Grinder with 3 Peppercorn Glaze, Steak Sauce Mayo, and Cheddar-Scrambled Eggs

"Made this for dinner. We left out the peppercorn glaze, and didn't put horseradish in the sauce, but honestly it was really good. The brisket was amazing - beautifully tender, and melted in your mouth. I wasn't sure about the steak sauce because by itself I didn't really like it, but once I put it on the sandwich, I kept slathering on more. We all really enjoyed this meal, and would definitely make it again."

Reviewed Chicken Fried Steak

"Tasted decent, but it's definitely a very heavy meal. You want to eat this when you're really hungry, in the dead of winter when you want a nice, hearty meal.

Reviewed Bobby Flay's Pumpkin Pie with Cinnamon Crunch and Bourbon-Maple Whipped Cream

"Decided to make this for Thanksgiving this year. I couldn't find muscovado sugar at either of the 2 stores I went to, so just subbed in either light brown or dark brown sugar. Like enaile0670 I had problems with the egg wash and the crust, so definitely will skip that step next year. Pie tasted more gourmet than just using the recipe on the side of the pumpkin can, but it wasn't in the realm of "wow this is the most amazing pumpkin pie I've ever had". The cinnamon crunch was amazing and completely made the pie for us, as did the graham cracker crust. Nobody like the whipped cream, but we just used regular whipped cream the second night and it was amazing. I would make this again for sure.
