Reviewed Red Wine and Port Poached Pears with Mascarpone

"OMG!!! Just the aroma of the wine reduction cooking with all those spices!! was enough to drive me crazy!! Then I plate the pear half as Anne instructed and I lost my mind! I bake cheesecakes to order during the holidays. I'm seriously considering using the left over reduction sauce and incorporating it into the batter. I actually used soft cream cheese instead of marscopone and added cinnomon and vanilla extract to it. Truthfully i forgot the chocolate until I read the recipe again, but I really didn't miss it because the pear, the sauce and the cream chesse mixture were so rich! Thanks again Anne- you are the best!!

About Me

I am  a single never been married middle age professional female.  I have been a nurse for the better part of 20 yrs but worked at the bedside for close to 30.  One of the things I love to do in my spare time is to cook.  I don't eat out a lot, so the money that I would spend eating out, I spend at the grocery store.  I love to try new things... I just recently made oxtail stew a la Pat and Gina Neeley.  But my newest favorite is Anne Burrell's Pasta Bolognese!  OMG!!! Anne said that she worked for years perfecting this recipe, and I don't know if would stack up to hers or not, but I

have never tasted meat sauce like this!!!  It is divine!!!  Thank you Anne Burrell!!  you are the best!!
