My Activity

Reviewed Pear, Apple and Cranberry Crisp

"Like others said, the hardest part of this recipe is all the peeling and dicing of the fruit...phew!

I made this dish for our Christmas Eve Dinner and served it warm with Vanilla Bean ice cream. Everyone loved it but I felt that there was something missing. I would have liked a bit more crunch in the texture so I think the next time I make this I will add chopped walnuts.

Reviewed Pumpkin Cheesecake

"Cheesecake came out pretty good and everyone liked it but for me it was missing something. For the crust I used cinnamon graham crackers along with the pecans.

I found that the 40 minute cook time was actually closer to an hour and 15 minutes or so.

Very easy if you follow the recipe and is a crowd pleaser but pay attention to cook time.

Reviewed Cranberry Sauce

"This was a HUGE hit! Super easy to make and very delicious.

I wasn't able to find cruched pineapple so I purchased DOLE diced pineapple and crushed and drained it myself.

I got a bit worried with everyone saying it might be too bitter if you use the whole orange like the recipe called for. I zested the whole orange then peeled and diced it as small as I could. The flavor was wonderful with the zest!

I loved the addition of diced walnuts for that little bit of crunch in every bite. For my next batch I may add a bit more.

The clove and cinnamon can get a bit overwhelming but if you follow the recipe it should be fine.

This will be a staple for Turkey Day from now on!

Reviewed Baked Macaroni and Cheese

"It was very easy to make but I agree with others...I didn't care too much for the onions as they were very over powering and I made it with less than what it called for. If I make it again I will omit the onions from the recipe. I would have also liked a more "cheesy" taste. I did not use the bread crumbs as the topped as I prefer the crunch of the baked cheese.

I may make it again just to perfect it for my liking but will not make it for a big gathering until I like it for sure.

Reviewed Slow-Cooker Spinach Dip

"Made this recipe last night for a Monday night football party and it was a huge hit! When I went to the store for the smoked mozzarella I accidentally picked up a spread with tomato instead of the grated version like the recipe called for. I still used it and I think this worked better and kept it more moist. I also added a cup of sour cream like someone else suggested. It was a delicious spread with bagel chips.
