Reviewed cajun shrimp and rice

Jun 12, 2014 on FoodNetwork.com

Really nice dish, only 2 pans and came together in less than 30 mins. made a few changes; only used 2 cups of cooked rice, halved grape tomatoes, small regular onion because i didnt have scallions, and followed others suggestions by adding chopped red pepper and one chopped celery rib. Really hard to find cajun seasoning that is something other than...

Reviewed mushroom barley

Jun 8, 2014 on FoodNetwork.com

Good, but "JMickD" is correct; need sgarlic and soy sauce otherwise the dill is just odd. i also used 2 packs pre-sliced mushrooms. Next time i might try cooking the barley in a bit of mushroom stock yo boost the flavor. This is a very elegant, flavorful side - but easy on the dill!

Reviewed Baked Tomatoes Stuffed With Creamy Stovetop Bacon Mac And Cheese Recipe : Food Network

May 27, 2014 on FoodNetwork.com

Well. Making the roux in the bacon grease didnt really add great bacon flavor, but it did add a significant grease taste that was not pleasant. I added a layer of chopped tomatoes to the top of the casserole instead of stuffing whole tomatoes. I also sprinkled the cooked bacon across the top instead of mixing the bacon throughout. This added a nice...

The taste is awesome, but i had a devil of a time with the chocolate. It seized on me TWICE!! The first time i threw it out because i couldn't get it to loosen. The second time, i just mashed it into the granola the best i could. That chocolate is SO expensive, i couldn't bear to throw out the second batch. I have no idea why it seized - not "

Crazy good. I created a shortcut by using Royal Blend wild rice, followed the directions, but cooked the rice in chicken stock. I skipped the pearl onions and just chopped a large onion instead. Also substituted the hazelnuts with toasted pecans and let me tell you, this dish is heaven. Don't save it for the holidays - serve with roast chicken"

Reviewed Buttermilk Biscuits

For years, I made buttermilk biscuit recipe from Southern Living; they were fine. But these are...amazing. The dough feels like velvet in your hands. The biscuits come out flaky and tender with such an incredible butter taste. No kidding, these are seriously good biscuits and don't be intimidated by the directions; it was easy as pie. "

Okay, seriously? This was crazy good. Unlike many recipes, I didn't fidget with this one at all. For calorie conscious, you can grill the eggplant with just a light coating of oil applied to both sides. Sometimes when I have the grill out, I will grill a bunch of eggplant and then store for use later in the week. That saves a bunch of time fo"

Reviewed Chicken with Mustard Mascarpone Marsala Sauce

Oct 4, 2012 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

Really quick and easy, but I made a few changes. I used full chicken breasts that I browed in the pan and then finished in the oven while I made the sauce. Boneless skinless chicken breasts are hard to brown without drying out and they have so little flavor. The sauce was a bit thick, so I loosened with some pasta water. When I added a bit of "

Crazy good recipe. I am a recipe-hound; have Ina's cookbooks and follow her show as well as many others, but I gotta tell ya this is hands-down the best dish I have ever made. I have made 100's of recipes from Food Network, but I've never written a review before. Had to do it for this one because i can't get over how good it was. Did not include...
