It was superb! I used a shallot instead of the onion and used some bacon fat with the butter and half and half instead of heavy cream to save a few calories. Definitely company worthy."

This is my go to cornbread recipe now! Love it! I did reduce the butter by 2 Tablespoons without hurting the taste or texture. Also, I never have buttermilk so use milk with a teaspoon or two of white vinegar mixed in. "
