My Activity

Reviewed Sliced Poached Chicken with Light and Lemony Gravy

"I made this 2 days ago and followed the lead of others here and cut the amount of lemon. I also did a substitution for the wine with white grape juice diluted with white wine vinegar. The leftovers made an incredible lemon chicken pot pie! To use a Rachelism, YUM-O! This one is a keeper! ""

Reviewed Roasted Cauliflower with Parmesan and Pancetta

"This has the potential to be a really delicious dish. But, why so much flour? The sauce comes out so thick you can stand the spoon in it. In fact I wouldn't call it a sauce, it was more like a batter! ""

Reviewed Road to Morocco Lamb with Pine Nut Couscous

"I made this last night with one substitution. I used ground lamb and mixed the spices right into it. What interesting flavor combinations, just a hint of sweet. Next time though, I will use rice instead of couscous. I must be doing something wrong, everytime I try making couscous (even with a recipe,) it comes out totally tasteless. ""

Reviewed Spicy Pop Pulled Pork

"Yikes! We don't generally eat really spicy food, but this looked interesting. So I used less than half of the 7 oz can of chipotle in adobo. Thank God I used it sparingly. With just that little the dish was still incendiary! I may try it again without the chipotles so I can actually taste what the soda and other seasonings do for the pork.""

Reviewed BLT Pasta Salad

"I made this as light on the sodium as I could by eliminating the use of the kosher salt and cooking my pasta without salt. The bacon is the big sodium offender in this recipe. So I also used about half of the bacon the recipe called for, and chose a low sodium bacon (yes there really is one,) and didn't warm the tomatoes etc in the bacon grease.""

Reviewed Turkey Osso Buco with Parsley and Rosemary Gremolata

"WONDERFUL! I made this for my husband with a couple of changes to accomodate his low salt diet and it was incredible. Thanks Giada"
