My Activity

Reviewed Baklava

"This was definitely the best Baklava I have ever had, and that was echoed by about 10 others! I did use the graham crackers like he did on TV and I used about a 60/40 ratio of pistachios to walnuts. I was worried because my pistachios were roasted and salted, but it tasted great!"

Reviewed Lasagna

"Like Linda I enjoy a challenge and did some work the day before. I also had a ton of the meat left over. This wasn't a problem though.. it made great sauce/stew leftovers for the rest of the week. I followed the instructions in his book rather than on here. They are slighty different and the bechamel in that one was enough for the recipe. Overall "

Reviewed Throwdown's Toasted Coconut Cake with Coconut Filling and Coconut Buttercream

"Deliciously light coconut cake. I added a touch more powdered sugar to the buttercream about an extra 1/4 cup than the recipe called for, but just did this to personal taste. Also next time I might try to whip the cream for the filling then fold in the pasty cream to get a little bit more fluff. "

Reviewed BBQ Turkey Meatloaf

"I thought this was a great recipe. I agree with the issue on the timing. It would be better to make in pieces rather than all at once. However I got rave reviews from my friends as the best meatloaf ever. I would like to cut back on the sugar/ketchup used. Am going to try and recreate using a mix of stevia based products combined wiht natural to see if I can get the same taste.
