Reviewed Monster Cookies
""Amazing." That's how my 17 yr old son at camp described them (makes a great cookie to send in a care package. I added 1/2 cup walnuts but could not taste them. Next time will add more chocolate chips and M&Ms. I used a 1 1/2" scoop and made 4 dozen. Did not need to flatten them. However one sheet that was on a higher rack in the oven cooked ""
Reviewed Beatty's Chocolate Cake
"My 17 yr old son wanted a "full fat" chocolate cake for his birthday rather than my delicious low fat one. Took a reviewers suggestion and used my bundt pan and just cooked it a little longer. What a delicious cake-quite chocolately (used Ghiradelli cocoa) and very moist and not too sweet. We decided to make our no fail chocolate frosting which we particularly liked because it is sweeter than the cake and provided a nice contrast- A.S.'s Frosting- melt 4 unsweetened baking chocolate squares with 1 stick butter on the stove. Mix 2 1/2 cups confectioners sugar with 1 tsp vanilla extract. Add 1/4 cup milk to sugar until "thick and soupy". Mix everything together. Let sit to thicken at least 30 min (15 in refrigerator). If too thick add more milk. (Also this recipe is much easier.)"
"What a delicious recipe! Had mini brioche rolls on hand which were perfect. The seasonings were just right. Also tried them with fresh mint added on top! The burgers and the yogurt sauce can be made ahead. Thanks for the suggestion of slaw on the side-I sauteed 1/2 head of Savoy cabbage with 1/2 sliced red onion and sprinkled with seasoned rice wine vinegar, sesame oil, salt and pepper. A quick delicious meal!
