Tasty. Next time I will try it with reduced fat sour cream and less sugar to see if the taste is as good."

Apr 26, 2011 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

This was a nice light, crunchy biscotti. I dipped them in semi sweet chocolate for a finishing touch. My only negative comment is that 1/2 of the cookies broke when I was slicing them. With this in mind, I don't think I would make them as a gift. But for regular eating, they were very tasty."

This was good, but it was missing the sweetness that I am used to getting when I order it at an Indian restaurant. Probably could be solved by adding a little honey. Overall good flavor."

Love Ina. Did not love this recipe. My bay scallops were not substantial enough; it was like eating lima beans one at a time, And my bowls were too large for the portion size so that you could see the scallops swimming in a large pools of butter. The prosciutto flavor was lost too. Even if everything were perfect, I think this dish would still...

Awesome. This is so tasty, with a little bit of spice, but not too much. Have to admit I used the regular Essence and fresh parsley (instead of rosemary), as I already had these on hand. My prep and cooking time amounted to 2 hours. I have not been a fan of Emeril's recipes because they have been too involved for the end result, but this one I...

Reviewed Roasted Potato Skins with Horseradish Cream

Feb 13, 2011 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

I made this as a filling for potato skins, instead of serving as a dip with potato wedges. It was really tasty and I like the fact that most of the ingredients were low fat. I felt healthy eating it.

Reviewed Frisco Gourmet Potato Skins

Feb 13, 2011 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

This was pretty good. I used one small jar of artichoke hearts and a small log of goat cheese. I used this recipe along with two other potato skin recipes to have a few different choices at a family dinner. It turned out well.

Reviewed Portuguese Fish Stew

Jan 17, 2011 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

This stew was very good. The prep/cooking time was about 1 hour 15 minutes. I used a 12 quart stock pot. Aside from the authenticity aspect, I think you can get away with not using the clams, if they are too expensive. The garlic bread was very good too. This was a nice hearty meal.

Reviewed Beef Taco Salad with Chunky Tomato Dressing

Jan 16, 2011 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

If you are looking for lower calorie options, this is probably a good recipe to try. But, anyone with cooking experience could come up with this combination him/herself; there is nothing special about this food. And unless you are on a low salt diet, the beef needs to be salted.

Very good cookie, but similar to others I have had. Not sure the coconut did anything to the cookie. Best thing about this recipe is that it is super easy. Just grab all the ingredients and start pouring and mixing. Mine needed about 15 minutes to cook to a nice light brown color. Worthy of repeating.

Reviewed Broccoli and Sausage with Shells

Dec 16, 2010 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

The nice thing about this website is that you can type in a few ingredients and get recipes that use those ingredients. That's what I did here. But I had sweet italian sausage (Premio brand) and so that is what I used. And having read the prior reviews, I added some sesame seed oil to the saute pan, 1/2 cup extra of chicken broth, some fresh parsley,...

Reviewed Parmesan Smashed Potatoes

Dec 11, 2010 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

This recipe was a hit with my family, most of whom love mashed potatoes. I am not a mashed potato fan, and this recipe did not convert me into one. I would have preferred a stronger cheese flavor.

Reviewed Oven Roasted Broccoli

Dec 11, 2010 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

I did not find this to be anything special. I wish I did, because the reviews were excellent. For me, this was lacking something that would have turned it from a nice alternative to steamed broccoli to something incredibly delicious that would make me want to make it again. I might make it again, but if I do, I will probably add more flavors (salt,...

This was soooo awesome. I would have given it 6 stars if I could. It is a classic chicken pot pie recipe. The flavors are really good and it looks great. Reviewed Engagement Roast Chicken

Dec 3, 2010 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

This was a very tasty moist chicken dish with a fruity flavor. I had to remove the lemons from the dish after cooking because they were bitter and overpowering the dish. I have had something similar to this dish with grapes and it was very good and not bitter. Worthy of repeating.

Reviewed Smokey Sweet Potato Souffle

Dec 3, 2010 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

I wanted an alternate to the sweet sweet potato dish for Thanksgiving. This delivered on that end, but maybe it was just too different. The people who tried it thought it was either good or too hot, (I should have seeded the peppers). I still had 3/4 of the dish leftover after dinner. I liked the taste but in my opinion, the mustard yellow color...

This was really good. And it was so easy. I was confused with the direction on how to add the egg/cheese mixture to the pasta; I was afraid I would scramble the eggs. I ended up using tongs and tossing the pasta with the egg/cheese mixture over and over until it looked as if all the pasta was covered. It worked out great. As a bonus, my kids...

This is a very easy way to prepare brussels sprouts, and it tastes great. I cooked them the specified time and used lots of kosher salt; I was looking forward to a crispy french fry experience. But while the outside got crispy, the inside was soft. It was still very good, but just different than I was expecting. I want to try this recipe again...

Reviewed Chewy Sugar Cookies

Nov 27, 2010 in Food Network Community Toolbox on Food Network

The cookies were tasty, but they did not look appetizing. They flattened out so much in the oven that it was very difficult to remove them cleanly from the baking sheet. I had a lot of cookie pieces. I used a nonstick insulated baking sheet, and I wonder if that was part of the problem. They were chewy as promised.

Reviewed Mexican Cornbread

Nov 10, 2010 in Food Network Community Toolbox on Food Network

I followed the recipe, minus the jalapenos. It was tasteless. It either needed more salt for a savory cornbread, or more sugar for a sweet cornbread. I threw the entire thing out. Even though I left out an ingredient, I still give this one star, because I cannot believe that the inclusion of the jalapenos would change the taste of the cornbread...

Nov 10, 2010 in Food Network Community Toolbox on Food Network

I was disappointed with this recipe. There was a lot of work involved and the results on day one were that overly spiced. I used the store bought Essence and the required cumin and maybe that was too much. The cornbread topping seemed like an afterthought. This dish was not good at all. By day two, the chipolte crema was ready so I used it on...
