This is a good basic recipe for a fall evening. I prefer more spice so I added poblano peppers and hot italian sausage. "

Reviewed Spinach Gratin

Way too rich and fattening. I also found bland. I will continue to serve my spinach in salad or sauteed with with olive oil and garlic.""

Reviewed White Sangria

Jul 31, 2011 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

This is very refreshing. I did not use the additional sugar as the wine and fruit does not need."

Reviewed Hot Crab Rangoon Dip with Won Ton Chips

Apr 20, 2011 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

This is what it is. Another mock and boring dip. It was a waste. Make the authentic recipe. The effort is the same and much more inviting."

Reviewed Chicken Wings with Red Hot Honey Glaze and Blue Cheese-Celery Dipping Sauce

Feb 27, 2011 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

The honey did not work for me. Back to the traditional Buffalo."

Reviewed Emeril's Lobster Cheesecake

Feb 27, 2011 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

Great recipe. I made this recipe using individual muffin tins and paper liners. Somewhat more time consuming, however, this allowed me to customize for individual tastes using different seafoods, herbs and spices and sauces. I am trying the mini tins for an upcoming cocktail reception."

Reviewed Gameplan: Dim Sum Party

Why did FN decide to put this on the site when there is no recipe?"

Reviewed "Oregon Wild" Fish Tacos

Feb 3, 2011 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

Isn't this forum for people who experiment with the recipe and share their results for all to use s a positive experience? Agreed, the recipe is bad and makes no sense. I do not agee with those attacking other reviewrs if never tried in both directions. The restaurant menu does not appear to have this dish.

Reviewed Veal with Artichokes and Wild Mushrooms

Feb 1, 2011 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

I agree with leaving out the Essence. The flavor overpowered the delicate and expensive meat. Not our favorite and will not prepare again.

Reviewed Crackling Pork Shank with Fire Cracker Apple Sauce

Jan 31, 2011 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

One pound sugar and salt? Feeding ? And all the lard? Food network chefs are out of control with no thought to health. That said. I made the apple sauce and it was fine.

Reviewed Maple Chicken Wings

Jan 20, 2011 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

These were too sweet. Candy chicken? The spices are lost. I think this is good for kids. Our group dinner was adults when I served. Many left over. No praise. Not good with cocktails.

Reviewed Alaskan King Crab Tempura

Jan 16, 2011 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

I thought I would try. Absolutely a waste of beautiful king crab. Why did Mr. Ervine not think about simplicity? Not a person in the house enjoyed.

Reviewed Beef Stroganoff with Buttered Noodles

Jan 8, 2011 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

I always believed beef stroganoff to be an elegant dish using tender steak cuts. I tried the short ribs here and ended up using for stock. Quote from James Beard, which I will go back to from now on. "There are many different versions," the chef writes in The James Beard Cookbook (Dell Publishing, 1959), the book from which the excerpt is taken....

Reviewed Puerto Rican-Style Roasted Pork Shoulder with Rice and Black Beans and Fried Sweet Plantains

Dec 9, 2010 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

Please note that the recipe uses the term "style" and not "authentic". The marinade is good, the cooking directions are the same. The side dishes are good as well.

Reviewed Layered Picnic-in-a-Jar

Nov 25, 2010 in Food Network Community Toolbox on Food Network

I tried making this for $10. per serving and individual. I found that you must have all ingredients in your kitchen, including left overs. You will not come close. Otherwise, this is good and fun picnic food.

Reviewed Champignons de Paris Stuffed with Escargot, Garlic, Parsley, and Almonds

The ham and almond combination with the snails was very good. Way too much butter. I will cut with extra virgin olive oil next time for health and taste.

Reviewed Dry Aged Chimney Porterhouse

Oct 15, 2010 in Food Network Community Toolbox on Food Network

I read about many good experiences? I followed the recipe as is and I cannot believe, after the 24 hours, I cannot remove the flecks of paper towel left all over the meat. Yes, I use brand name paper towels and I have grass fed and expensive choice porterhouse. I will not continue the process and I will now have to wash the meat and marinade as...
