Reviewed Garden Vegetable Soup

This soup is so yummy! I overload mine with veggies like purple hull peas and limas to add even more nutrients to the pot - but this is true comfort food without the fat and definitely my go-to garden soup! Way to go Alton!

Love it Love it Love it!!! I do tweak it every now and then depending on what we have in the kitchen, like oregano instead of thyme and swiss and provolone instead of gorgonzola - we live in a rural area where nice cheese require an hour drive - This time instead of butter, I cooked bacon in the dutch oven, drained 90% of the grease and cooked the...

I went with 8 cups of chicken stock and 2 cups water, but I added more mushrooms and carrots. I also simmered them for 10ish minutes, then cooked the dumplings and cabbage for 8ish minutes and added 2tbs of soy right to the dish. Also added"

Oh Alton.... I love so many of your recipes, but this one did not do it for me. We followed instructions exactly, bought extra fresh ingredients from reputable vendors, made our own stock, toasted the bread, made the rouille and everything - $160 spent to make something that was pungent smelling and lacking in awesomeness. I think the episode of G"

was really good, but regardless of me trying to separate the condensed milk from the wine as much as possible, it still curdled. and it is super good, but man, it's a TON of work. something good to make once every 6 months or so... but not a weekly dish for sure."
