"I love this recipe. I'd like to say, first, for those people who are concerned about the hot sauce - I hope you cooked the recipe before finding fault. The hot sauce adds moisture and excellent added flavor, but not the heat. I would give it to kids. I have given it to my grandkids and they loved it because it wasn't hot.

I'm a retired medical management consultant, married to a wonderful college professor for 38 years, have 3 amazing adult children and 6 precious grandchildren. Oh, and two perfect dogs! Currently live in SE Kansas.
My roots are Cajun from SW Louisiana, love to cook from scratch and have been doing so for about 45 years.
I've been highlighted as Cook of the Week in our local paper twice over the last 15 years and have compiled a cookbook of favorite recipes that has been printed and gifted to family members.

Comfort foods from scratch, Cajun dishes, Tex-Mex and American regional historic recipes - especially those that track the movement of Americans across our country (a subset would be "Cowboy Cooking".)
