Reviewed Honey Vanilla Fromage Blanc

Jan 28, 2012 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

This is such a delicious recipe! I looked all over for fromage blanc and I couldn't find it, so I used mascarpone. I had to use a lot more cream because mascarpone is a lot thicker than fromage blanc. That being said, it was so thick, rich, creamy, and delicious.""

Reviewed Salted Caramel Ice Cream

Jul 19, 2011 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

Well, this recipe takes a lot longer and is not as easy as it looked on TV. The ice cream base takes a lot longer to thicken than 3-5 minutes. I would say 8-10 minutes. I chilled it overnight and I think that helps the freezing process. Also, DO NOT PUT THE CARAMEL MIXTURE IN AN ICE BATH. This just hardens it and makes it impossible to mix it"

Reviewed Pomegranate and Mint Sorbet

Apr 26, 2011 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

DO NOT EAT THE SAME DAY THAT YOU MAKE IT! The mint flavor is way too strong and it seems to mellow down after it sits in the freezer for a day or two. I love the combination of the pomegranate and orange juices, but the mint is just a little too overpowering. It's Pomegranate & Mint Sorbet, not Mint Sorbet. Next time I make it I will try using"

Reviewed Brownie Tart

Mar 13, 2011 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

So, so very delicious! It baked for exactly 35 minutes and came out perfectly done, but still a little gooey on the inside from the melted chocolate chips. Didn't add walnuts, but I'm sure it would add a great savory element to the dish. Next time, I will definitely garnish it with some vanilla ice cream because it was so rich. Delicious, but...

Reviewed Deeply Chocolate Gelato

Feb 13, 2011 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

This is such an amazing dessert recipe! It was not too sweet and had a great chocolate flavor. I substituted semi-sweet chocolate for the bitter-sweet chocolate and it still turned out absolutely amazing! Fantastic recipe, Ina!

OMG! Who says you have to make sophisticated desserts? This is a huge crowd pleaser, no matter what the age range.

At least this recipe doesn't call for "GOOD" vanilla extract like most of Ina's other dessert recipes.

good olive oil? really? c'mon, we all don't live in East Hampton and go to specialty cooking stores for food and the farmstand for fresh fruits and veggies. oh wait, that's the way Ina and all of her friends live.

"If you can't go fly to California and buy some good olive oil, store bought is just fine."

Like a few other viewers, these require you to have teeth of iron. All in all, they were okay, but a bit too sweet for my pallet.
