Reviewed Chicken Fried Steak

"I attempted making this for the 1st time bout a month ago, I've never made chicken fried steak b4, nor have I ever been particularly skilled at making gravy but I needed a recipe to use the cube steak I had in the freezer. My hubby isn't really in2 the dish too much himself, altho I order it frm restaurants frm time to time. It turned out awesom""

Reviewed Bubba's Creamy Spicy Seafood Pasta

"Made this last week for hubby n I. It was good, just enuff kick frm red pepper. We love spicy food & wasn't sure if the recipe called for enuff but glad I kept to it cuz it was fine the way it was. W/the 1st bite we both noticed the "vodka" flavor, which is ok, luckily it wasn't too overpowering, don't kno if it was cuz I didn't reduce it enuff or the brand I used. I do agree w/some of the other reviewers it was a bit on the bland side as far as seasoning goes. This is one of those recipes, I think, that you have to play w/to make it your own & to your liking."

Reviewed Roasted Jalapeno Pimento Cheese

"I made this for a party last year, yea I kno I'm just now getting around to my review! lol I thought it was pretty good but not as good as the Pimento recipe by Greg Auten of The Penguin. I may try it again someday and try & figure out what I did wrong, if anything. I was the only one who seemed to eat any of it at the party. But that was poor planning on my part since some ppl at this get together don't like or can't handle spicy, not that I thought it was real hot tho. I kept the leftover's so it could be snacked on & the one thing that I particularly noticed was that as it sat in the frig, it tended to get watery... hmm? May be sum1 could tell me why it might do that? "

Reviewed BLT Deviled Eggs

"I made these for one of my daughter's parties at her home last year along w/the reg deviled eggs. They were a big hit, went 1st b4 the reg one's. Nothing wrong w/this recipe!"

Reviewed Swiss and Bacon Dip

"I made this for my hubby on Valentine's, swiss is his all time fav cheese. And who doesn't like/love bacon?! Figured couldn't wrong w/this combo & I was right :D I chose this recipe based on the other reviews and altho some comments were on the negative side, I knew the majority couldn't be wrong. We absolutely loved this one! The flavor was "spot on" & it was easy to make, ohh & NOT greasy.

The only 2 things I did a little different was that I took the advise of one reviewer & used Real Bacon bits and I baked it longer than suggested cuz hubby wanted a more crisp/brown top, which ended up being a great idea. "

Reviewed Spinach, Artichoke and Bacon Dip with Crispy Pitas

"I've had this recipe in my book for almost a yr now & finally got around to making it. Not a disappointment, wish I had done it sooner for sure. Took a little longer to make than I thought it would, no problem, you learn w/every recipe ;)

A cpl of things I definitely learned w/this recipe; (1) watch your zest, I didn't measure, just "eye balled" it & it ended up overpowering the dish, (2) the seasoning amounts for the pita crisps were too much. I ended up throwing the 1st batch out & making another, hubby said it was way too salty.

But all in all I really like the pita crisps. I also put out Triscuits for hubby, his fav cracker, and he preferred them w/the dip. I then decided to try a vege, celery, and omgosh! did that help w/the over zesting I did, it made a huge difference. Other vege's will prob work well, too, look forward to experimenting :D"

Reviewed Beef Stew

"I have never made a stew like this b4. Altho it took longer to cook then specified but all in all it came out really good. I halved the recipe & used the vege portions of what I had on hand but it didn't matter I think it came out the way it was supposed to or really close to it. Hubby loved it!
