My Activity

Reviewed Blueberry Muffins

"these baked up perfectly - it must have been the cake flour. But.... they were pretty tasteless. My usual recipe includes lemon peel and a dash of cinnamon. If those were added to this recipe, it would probably be great.""

Reviewed Grilled Red Snapper with Grapefruit-Thyme Mojo

"this was almost inedible. it's my first disappointment from Bobby, and I'm surprised. The entire family hated it, which never happens, either. I'm going to work on it though, because all of the ingredients are things I love.
Perhaps some measurements would have helped. My grapefruit was very large, so I reduced it like a previous reader suggested""

Reviewed Red Velvet Cupcakes with Cream Cheese Frosting

"there was so much oil in this recipe that it seeped through the cupcake liners and oiled the pan. The cupcakes had such a tough crust that at first I thought that there was something IN the cupcake. I followed the advice of a previous reviewer and used 3 tablespoons of cocoa, so the flavor was Okay. I was wishing for a richer cupcake, but not an oily one. This was strike three for Paula, I won't try her recipes again."

Reviewed Popcorn Balls

"After making these popcorn balls, the only thing I'm impressed with is the mess! The taste is just gooey sugar.I followed the advice to add butter and to pour everything onto a cookie sheet lined with wax paper and sprayed with Pam, but I would skip the wax paper and just spray directly on the cookie sheet because the paper just ripped and made it harder to work with. I also cooked it to a soft ball instead of a hard ball because I didn't want the balls to be too crunchy - I'm taking them to a cheer bake sale at the high school football game tonight, and I didn't think people would want sticky crumbs falling in their laps. It was the right choice - they're perfect in that regard, just rather tastless.
