“My chocolate chip cookies always turn out flat, too! I read in a review this week that it helps if you don't over beat the dough. I tried that, and it helps. Also, chilling the dough and making sure you use a cooled baking sheet for each batch helps, too. I've never tried using Crisco for half of the butter. That sounds like a good idea.
