Perfect recipe. I doubled it and used my Rival electric ice cream maker and it made over 3 quarts (almost a gallon). Rich and creamy. I won't be making it too often (yikes, 16 egg yolks and two cups of whipping cream!), but at least once every summer. I can't afford all the fat and calories. But it's a wonderful once-a-year treat.
