Reviewed Stuffed Rack of Lamb for Two

Feb 21, 2012 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

Absolutely to die for and sooooooo simple. My only error was not heating the plates. Although I lay the lamb on a bed of garlic and chive mashed potatoes, the meat cooled down quickly. Thank goodness I didn't slice the lamb prior to serving. I'll know better for the next time; which will be soon. Thanks Ted....this is a winner!""

Reviewed Wilted Romaine Salad with Roasted Pears, Taleggio and Hazelnuts

Feb 21, 2012 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

Made this salad as a starter for a special dinner guest. We both loved it. The creaminess of the cheese paired with sweetess of the bosc and the crunchy texture of the hazelnut was SPECTACULAR. Was expecting the tallegio cheese to be more pungent but was pleasantly surprised. I ran out of champagne vinegar so I used pinot grigio vinegar which was...

Good but not great! I found the sauce a little bit salty. Next time I will reduce the salt by at least a half teaspoon. I am going to use the remainder of the sauce on grilled chicken and fish as it is low calorie and very tasty Will definitely make the diet tasty but guilt-free.""

Reviewed Crawfish and Andouille Sausage Pizza

Sep 10, 2011 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

I have made this pizza quite a few times and it is always a hit! My son has requested it as part of his birthday dinner. The sauce has a nice little kick and the butter adds a silkiness. Since I could only find frozen crawfish, I let them sit between 2 paper towels after they were thawed just to make sure that all of the moisture is out of them. ...

Sep 5, 2011 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

I had never made vodka sauce before. My mom usually makes it for the kids and says that it is labor intensive. Rainy day and I had all of the ingredients so I decided to give it a try. Both husband and son just raved about the sauce. I asked them to compare it to grandma's sauce and was told that this one is ten times better. Hubby is even pushin...

Reviewed Spicy Thai Noodles with Ginger Peanut Dressing

Aug 27, 2011 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

DELICIOUS EVEN WITH A MAJOR BOO-BOO! I was in a rush and missed one of the major ingredients (CHICKEN). What I ended up doing was pouring the chicken marinade over the warm noodles and when they were at room temperature, I added the peanut dressing. My family just raved about the noodles. They liked it even better the next day right out of the re...

Aug 22, 2011 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

Very rich! Just a few changes: (1)In the future, I will use a different size pasta. I found the ziti too big. (2) I used 1 1/4 pound pasta which for my taste was too much. I like my mac and cheese very creamy. I'll use one pound of pasta in the future. I did not salt the pasta water and was glad that I didn't. The parmesan and sharp provolone ch...

Excellent with a couple a revisions. It really bothers me when people post negative reviews when they have altered the ingredients. I am however, posting a great review with a few necessary adjustments. I was not able to get sea bass but my fish monger assured me that halibut would be a great subtitute (which it was). I also used jalapeno peppers "

I am making a double batch as I am munching on the cookies while they cool! Out of this world is an understatement! I bought some pretty take-out containers and am planning to give these as gifts to the "grandmothers" for Mothers' Day. The subtle taste of orange just adds to the overall flavor. I always have puff pastry sheets in the freezer and"

Reviewed New Orleans Bacon Pralines

Apr 30, 2011 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

Loved the pralines but this is not a recipe for novices. Just a few notes: the bacon needed to be cooked much longer than was stated. I turned it at 15 minutes dabbed with papertowel and returned to the oven for another 20. The recipe is not clear regarding the 3 tbsp of brown sugar and pecans. I could see how someone who wasn't really versed in t"

Very tasty! I added a bit more ginger and cayenne than was suggested. The potatoes had a great little kick. Served it with stuffed flank steak and it was a great accompanyment. Thanks Claire!"

Reviewed Homemade Mini Corn Dogs

Feb 7, 2011 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

Had never eaten a corn dog in my life. Saw these and decided to try them for Super Bowl Sunday! They were a great hit! Cutting the hot dogs in thirds made them the perfect size for appetizers. Used self-rising corn meal although I though that I heard that self-rising flour was used on the show. Regardless, they were great and I will make them again...
