Reviewed Pumpkin Lasagna

Oct 13, 2012 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

I made this recipe and my family loved it- people went back for thirds. I used mild sausage, brown rice noodles (for those allergic to gluten), and Cabernet Sauvignon for the wine. If you are expecting it taste like pumpkin, well, don't. I would suggest using the whole can of pumpkin and two eggs if you want it to taste it more pumpkin-like. This"

Jun 6, 2012 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

My family likes rich things, so we didn't have a problem with the intensity of this, but I can definitely see where some people would. Because there is no sugar, it is VERY chocolaty, but it is CHOCOLATE mousse...
But it isn't really the texture of a mousse; it is heavy, dense, and somewhat hard.
You really do need to strain the...

I made this for my family, and they loved the taste. My mother was particularly fascinated with the rub under the skin, which is a must. I had a difficult time removing the keel bone, and I ended up just cutting through it. I did have to broil it a little more the the recipe said, but not much. I didn't use vegetables 'past their prime,' so I coul"

Reviewed Potato/Portobello Gratin

Jun 6, 2012 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

Overall, this recipe is very good, but as mentioned in other reviews, could use a few changes. For me, I only had enough potatoes for two-and-a-half layers, so I would add on more potato. I also needed at least two cups of cheese, and I suggest using more than one cheese."

Reviewed Mashers

Jun 6, 2012 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

This recipe is very simple and easy. The mixture of potatoes is brilliant- there is a perfect amount of chunks. I had to use all of the milk mixture and they still weren't creamy enough for me. I did add some of the garlic, definitely not all of it. I mashed them well so I didn't get any garlic-y chunks."

Reviewed Pan Seared Rib Eye

Jun 6, 2012 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

This is barley a recipe it is so easy! It tastes exceptionally good, as there are few ingredients to get in the way of the steak. However, I cooked it exactly the amount specified, and it was rare/underdone, so I added one minute to each side in the oven and it was then medium-rare."

Reviewed The Shrimp Cocktail

Jun 4, 2012 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

This is an overall GREAT recipe! It is super easy and fast. The cocktail sauce is perfect and the best I have ever had! It is a little on the spicy side, so if you don't like any heat in your sauce you can cut down the amount to 3 tablespoons. On the other hand, you could up it to 5 tablespoons if you like it super spicy.
The process goes...

This pie tasted awesome! It was a little complex, but I managed it. I followed it perfectly, but when I cut it the crust wasn't completely done, a little soggy. When I cut into it, there was a little excess liquid (Not quite sure what it was...), but not a big deal. I am 13 and I accomplished it pretty well. I am trying to get as much experience ...

Reviewed Hash Brown Quiche

Mar 8, 2012 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

This was amazing, taste wise and time wise. It was so easy! The hash brown crust had a few holes in it so the egg mixture didn't stay perfectly inside it, but that didn't affect the taste at all! Some of my family avoided it because of all of the cream, and I might substitute some of the cream for one more egg, but that is just my opinion. You co...

I would say that these are the best muffins I have ever had! They were extremely moist and light and needed nothing. Not the healthiest, but the taste definitely made up for it. I baked them for about 5 minutes longer than the recipe said. They were super easy too! I am 13 and I managed, but I have already established my position as dessert and b...

Reviewed Breakfast Casserole

Mar 7, 2012 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

This casserole tasted pretty good, but I suggest a few adjustments. I had to bake it for quite a while longer than the recipe for the eggs to cook, and like others ave said, the vegetables definitely need to be cooked a little before hand. They barely cook at all in the oven. I used 16 oz. of mild sausage and 8 oz. of spicy, because it was easier...

Reviewed Blueberry-Lemon Cheese Blintzes

Mar 7, 2012 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

These were the best blintzes I have ever tasted! I had never made blintzes before, but I pulled it off pretty well. The recipe was amazing, no changes were needed. There was a little bit extra blueberry sauce, but that wasn't a problem.... I made everything the night before and refrigerated it. The ratio of blintzes to filling was perfect. My fam...

Mar 7, 2012 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

I also used 12 oz. of 68% dark chocolate. My family and I thought they tasted amazing, but the cocoa powder was a little bitter for us. The powdered sugar was much better. I had to microwave the chocolate to get it melted all the way. One hour in the fridge was way too long, as well as the 15 minutes after spooning chunks onto the baking sheet....

Nov 20, 2011 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

As many of the other reviews said, the crust was extremely hard to work with. I had to add a ton of extra flour in order to have it not stick to my hands when rolling it out. It tasted amazing, but it was almost not worth the effort.
The filling was also VERY good. I added a little extra chocolate because there was only two ounces and who...
