"I loved this recipe and will definitely make it again. My one picky kid won't eat it because he hates cheese but everyone else really enjoyed it. I did saute some onions and garlic for the meatballs but that's the only change I made. Really good and will make again soon."

"I was a little worried when I read the reviews because so many people thought it was too "winey" tasting so I decided to forgo the marination altogether and just use the wine to deglaze the pan. I put the bay leaves in to cook with it in the oven and used about 3 cups of stock. It tasted really good although it wasn't nearly as vibrant looking as the photo here suggests. Much more brown and samey even with the carrots. Overall, it was very good and everyone liked it so I'll probably make it again sometime.
Oh, and for the people who had issue with the flour from the meat falling off...all I can say is that you likely put far too much flour on it. It shouldn't be a coating or batter, just a dusting of flour to help with the browning. So there shouldn't be any "crust" or anything to fall off. Hope that's helpful.
