Reviewed Dora's Baked Spaghetti

"To Kimber157 - Thank you for letting me know about the sugar in with tomatoes. Where I worked for years, the cooks would put sugar in the spaghetti sauce and I could taste it. I didn't like the taste at all. I don't really taste the sugar it in the "processed sauces" . Maybe the cooks in the kitchen added to the sauces at work. I have lost 160 pounds and watch how I eat and what I eat. Trying to make sure to make or cook my food at home. So, now, my taste buds are more sensitive because I have trained myself to enjoy the natural flavors of fresh fruit and vegetables along with a small taste of meat at times.

I actually thought adding sugar to tomato sauces was a southern thing -- from the south, not Italy. I have stopped going to my favorite pizza place because I can now taste the sugar in the pizza sauce. Bummer! They actually hand make pizza's and other items.

Thanks again Kimber157!"

Reviewed Dora's Baked Spaghetti

"I saw this show today. Thought I would make for dinner. So .. … … Prepared with ground beef, (from Publix – Market Fresh) and Perdue ground chicken. Did not add pork and turkey. Substituted Ragu Tomato & Basil spaghetti sauce instead of tomato paste. Sliced the diced tomatoes into smaller pieces. Used 3 cloves of garlic Also added 1/2 cup of thinly sliced celery. Parsley and Bay Leaves were from the bottle.
Added 1 Tablespoon of Oregano, ½ teaspoon of Caraway Seeds, ½ teaspoon Celery Salt, added 1 teaspoon of House Seasoning. NO SUGAR ADDED. – Sugar is normally added in the South, why!!! – I cannot tell you. I don’t care for sugar in my tomato sauce(s). I think the sugar helps with digestion concerning the acid from the tomato. Either way, I DID NOT ADD SUGAR. No bell pepper added. Simmered everything together as instructed. Smeared butter in bottom of baking pan. Dish came out looking pretty and inviting. Tasted good too! Thank you for sharing! :-)
