"These were amazing! I just made them this morning after seeing the recipe in her cookbook I got for my birthday. Very easy, just took a little bit of time. Reminded me of beignets, and I didn't mind a slightly "raw" center - it was a bit custardy. Some of them were cooked a bit more through because I think my oil wasn't too hot at first. I tried to maintain the 375 degree temp, which I think is important if you don't like the custardy center. Wonderful and delicious recipe! "
