Reviewed penne with vodka sauce

Mar 3, 2014 on FoodNetwork.com

I had much higher hopes for this recipe! I thought it was pretty good, but not amazing and my boyfriend didn't like it much. It doesn't taste like vodka sauce you'd get in a restaurant, just some cheesy sauce that could potentially come from a jar. Homemade slow cooked sauce makes a big difference I think. But if you want a quick version, this does...

This recipe is phenomenal...perfect for any ocassion to wow. You can cook this in much smaller batches and on the stove and it's still awesome. Totally worth all the work, wouldn't change a thing!

Reviewed pan-roasted chicken with leeks

Mar 3, 2014 on FoodNetwork.com

The sauce is good (you can even use 2% milk to make it healthier), but I personally like it better as less of a cream sauce and more of a gravy sauce...but the bacon is phenomenal with the leeks. It's definitely essential that the chicken gets crispy and browned good in the pan before baking/roasting. I do think it would be better to eat over pasta...

Reviewed chorizo and shrimp quesadillas with smoky guacamole

Feb 25, 2014 on FoodNetwork.com

This recipe is awesome. I love the combo of the guacamole with that spiciness and the richness of the quesadilla. Just be sure to chop the shrimp like the recipe says or at least drain them if you want them to stay whole so that all those juices don't sog up the tortillas (I made that mistake once) and they are just as good without the chorizo in...

Reviewed barbeque meatloaf

Wonderful recipe! Extremely moist and flavorful with a tangy sauce. The constant basting makes it melt in your mouth like butter. If you don't like tangy sauces, then just make your own version of BBQ or leave out the mustard and use chicken broth or some white wine instead. If you love meatloaf, this is a must try. Best meatloaf I've ever made.

Reviewed meatloaf muffins with barbecue sauce

Feb 25, 2014 on FoodNetwork.com

This recipe is great to make smaller portions of meatloaf and it's a really good idea to do it in a muffin pan, very quick cooking as well. I think this is great for families and the sauce on the top as well as in with the meat keeps the meat really juicy. I just love how quick and easy it is to make and how you can easily take lunch portions the...

Reviewed turkey shepherd's pie

This recipe was great. It's a good way to use healthy/lean ground turkey and make it more tasty and hearty for a family meal or for a guy who would prefer beef. I added roasted garlic instead and used purple potatoes on top to give it some extra color and make it more fun. I put in a bit more turkey and vegetables as well to fill out the ramekins...

I really love this recipe. I've been making a ton of soups lately and chicken noodle is one I always want to make again and again. The chicken was very tender and the broth really wasn't hard to prepare. I loved it! "

This recipe is great!! It's very flavorful and creamy but not too heavy or overly rich. I even made it once and didn't puree it but just cooked everything down until the leeks and potatoes were extremely tender and it still came out great! I put some extra spices in there too like garlic powder, a little lemon parsley and a little italian seasoni"

Great recipe!!! I would probably like a little more vanilla and/or bananas or some cinnamon, but it was still great and very moist with a crispier outside layer. "
