Yikes - I used Kikkoman Panko for the breadcrumb topping and it's texture is like coarse sand sprinkled on top my delicious, creamy AB's mac and cheese. 5 Stars for the sauce but if you can't find Wel-Pak panko and Kikkoman is your only option, I'd go with homemade soft breadcrumbs tossed in melted butter to top your casserole. Whoa. Comfort food at its finest. Beautifully seasoned tomato sauce makes this recipe stand out. Oh My, Meat pie!! Wowie. Beautiful combination of spices and flavors in this dish. I used left-overs of our lamb roast instead of ground lamb. Stayed true to the recipe with everything else.
