Reviewed sage potatoes au gratin

Delicious! I love the Manchego cheese for a change, rather than the more traditional Gruyere or cheddar.

Reviewed Fruit Salad with Poppy Seed Dressing

Apr 17, 2013 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

Very light and refreshing fruit salad. The lime juice gives it a wonderful bright flavor. The poppy seeds were undetectable, so I won`t add them again. However, the pistachios are a wonderful addition."

Reviewed Roasted Shrimp Salad

Apr 17, 2013 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

Excellent recipe. I halved the sauce and it was perfect. The orange, dill and red onion are a great combination of flavors. I served the shrimp mounded on butter lettuce with a croissant on the side. Wonderful light lunch."

Reviewed Chicken, Artichoke and Cannellini Bean Spezzatino

Feb 14, 2013 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

Absolutely delicious! I used bacon instead of pancetta, only because that`s what I had, but it gave it a nice smoky flavor. I also used canned artichokes, rinsed, for the same reason. I have also made a vegetarian version, cooking the vegetables and herbs in olive oil, and it was still wonderful. "

This was delicious. I loved the addition of the cinnamon. I will definitely be making this again."

Fabulous salad...such a wonderful combination of flavors. I like to serve this on individual plates, on a bed of mixed baby greens. Sometimes just for a little texture, I sprinkle chopped pistachios on the top. "

Reviewed Baked Chicken Breasts With Parmesan Crust

Feb 1, 2013 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

I really liked the flavor and they were tender, but I was disappointed that they didn`t brown. This recipes would have been a keeper if the crust was browned and crispy."

Reviewed Chicken Potpie Soup

Jan 16, 2013 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

This is a very good soup. I added more poultry seasoning and salt than the recipe calls for and I used corn instead of potatoes. The crust is great, but not really necessary. This is a soup and not a chowder, so I expected it to be thinner, which I really liked because it wasn`t so heavy. I will definitely be making this again."

Reviewed Green Beans and Tomatoes

These were really great...very flavorful and so easy. I served them with Ina Garten`s herb marinated pork tenderloin and a potato gratin. I will definitely be making these again."

Reviewed Individual Peach Upside-Down Cake

Jan 8, 2013 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

I made this with pears and it was fabulous! I tested this before serving it at my dad`s 93rd birthday dinner. I`m going to top it with a dollop of unsweetened whipped cream, as I think it`s sweet enough on it`s own. I love ginger, but I`m going to cut back to 2 T., as I think it was a little overpowering. I`ll be making this again when peaches are"

Reviewed Love Birds - Chicken in Pastry

Feb 14, 2012 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

This is very good, however I think it needs a sharper cheese than fontina. The next time I make this, I`ll use a sharp cheddar or an aged provolone, which I think will contrast nicely with the sweetness of the preserves.""

Reviewed Braised Country-Style Ribs with White Beans and Fresh Herbs

Dec 4, 2011 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

Delicious! I substituted 1 can of cannellini beans for the dried beans during the last few minutes of cooking and I only used about 4 cups of broth. I also added a tablespoon of Dijon mustard which gave it a wonderful flavor. It was great the day I made it, but of course even better the next day. I highly recommend it!""

Reviewed Apple Coffee Cake with Crumble Topping and Brown Sugar Glaze

Sep 28, 2011 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

Delicious! I didn`t make the glaze and it was great without it. I will definitely be making this again and again.""

Reviewed Fresh Peach Cake

Aug 24, 2011 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

This is a very good cake. However, I would put it in the category of a coffee cake in terms of texture, flavor and appearance. It was much better the next morning with a cup of coffee than it was the night before when I served it as dessert. I will definitely be making this again, perhaps using apples or pears when peach season is over.""

Reviewed Apricot Oat Bars

Aug 16, 2011 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

These are fantastic! Like the previous reviewer, I used dried cherries, cherry preserves...and pecans instead of walnuts. I even forgot to add the egg (sitting on the counter to return to room temp!) and they were still wonderful. I was afraid they would be crumbly without the egg, but they were perfect.""

Reviewed Broccoli Salad

Jan 30, 2011 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

I love this and have been making it for years. I always use freshly squeezed lemon juice instead of vinegar because I think it gives it a bright, fresh flavor. It`s a beautiful salad and goes well with so many things. I highly recommend it!

Reviewed Orange and Fennel Salad

Jan 30, 2011 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

I love this recipe. Like some others, I use Champagne vinegar instead of the red wine vinegar. I have tried it with mandarin oranges, but it is so worth it to take the time to use fresh orange sections. I also like to serve it on a bed of mixed baby greens. The colors are beautiful...especially at Christmas!

Reviewed Old-Fashioned Gingerbread

Jan 30, 2011 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

No doubt about it...the best gingerbread I`ve ever eaten! I don`t care for raisins in gingerbread, so I omit them. The addition of the crystallized ginger puts it over the top, making it extra special! I love to serve this with a good lemon sauce.

Reviewed Fried Zucchini

Jan 30, 2011 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

I love these! I flour them first before coating with the egg. It helps the crust adhere to the zucchini much better. I serve these as an appetizer with a dip made of equal parts of sour cream and mayonnaise mixed with lemon juice and zest. Fantastic!

Reviewed Huggy Buggy Bread Pudding

Reviewed Real Meatballs and Spaghetti

Jan 30, 2011 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

These are wonderful meatballs! I added some minced garlic and I used milk instead of water, but those were my only changes to the recipe. I baked them at 350 for about 10 minutes and then finished them by simmering in the sauce. The combination of meats is so much better than all beef!
