Reviewed Olive Oil Poached Salmon
"Not very flavorful, but moist and goes well with a spicy chutney and a sweet and spicy curry rice. I probably won't be doing this again; way too much olive oil for such a little amount of food. I did use the oil for a vegetarian poach on some quorn chic'n cutlets and then 3 pounds of salmon. If I did it again I would double up on the herbs. "
Reviewed Butternut Squash Mostarda
"Very tasty; went well with the poach salmon. I made curried rice since I am gluten intolerant & could not make it with the couscous type tomato dish. The only thing I would have done differently then the recipe suggests is to add the mustard seed and then the mustard powder with the oil before adding the liquid. Thank you!"
About Me
I
I am a better savory, spicy cook than a sweets cook. Our family loves trying different foods from different cultures. Our favorite recipes come from a Jain and a Hindu family. Our challenges are creating one meal for dinner time; I am gluten intolerant, cannot eat peanuts, and eat an "eat right for your blood type" diet (type O), plus my partner is vegetarian (no flesh of any kind and no mushrooms type A blood) and loves sweets; thank goodness our little one (type O) will try everything and loves raw veggies. My favorite meal is hors d'oeuvres and Crudités with a nice glass of wine. I make my own wines and I am a wild crafter (medicine woman). I also love growing my own herbs (some things just don't grow wild in our area).
