Reviewed Garlic Cilantro Lime Rice
"My husband and I both liked this rice. I'm not sure how lime infused everyone else's was, but ours was SERIOUSLY lime flavored. Maybe, since the limes I used were really large, it caused the flavor to be quite overwhelming. I didn't even add the lime juice from the last lime. I'm also not sure what I didn't wrong, but my rice seemed kind of crispy"
Reviewed Marshmallow Crispy Treats
"Everyone in the family loved them! The only changes I made to this recipe were using regular butter (instead of salted) and I did not add the 1/4 tsp. salt. They still tasted great."
Reviewed Simple Perfect Enchiladas
"After seeing Ree make these on her show, I decided to try and make them myself. I've never made enchiladas at home before, but these were really good. Will I make this exact recipe again? Probably not, and here is why. It's not that I didn't think this recipe didn't taste good, I just felt that there were some extra steps that didn't seem necessar"
Reviewed Broiled Tilapia with Mustard-Chive Sauce
"This was a really quick and easy recipe to make, and my family really enjoyed it. I didn't use the same size lemon as mentioned in the recipe, I used a smaller one, and the sauce seemed a little overpowered by the lemon--and I like lemons! I'm going to decrease the amount of lemon juice next time, but this will become a frequently used recipe in my recipe box. Thanks Giada!
Reviewed Pat and Gina's Oven Fried Chicken
"I love cooking with Panko bread crumbs and was excited to try this recipe. Unfortunately, I had the same problem as others--the bottom of the chicken was soggy, but it was still a delicious recipe. And I will plan to double the spices next time around as suggested by other reviewers. I was hoping for a little more spice than I achieved following the recipe. Oh well, there is always next time--can't wait!
Reviewed Paula's Fried Peanut Butter and Banana Sandwich
"I really enjoyed this, but I did cut down on some of the butter because I thought it was a little excessive and unnecessary. My husband and I had this for lunch one day, and while it was tasty, it's one of those recipes that I will be making once in a great while. It was such a filling meal and I don't see how anyone could eat more than one sandwich. I was afraid that the cinnamon sugar coating on the bread was going to be too much, but it was delicious. I didn't use chunky peanut butter like the recipe called for, I just used regular. I think chunky peanut butter might be too rich for our tastes.
Reviewed Lemon-Garlic Shrimp and Grits
"I thought this was a really easy recipe to make. However, with a couple of adjustments, I think it would be even better. I didn't really think the shrimp retained much of the lemon garlic flavor. Next time I make this, I may try and marinate the shrimp in the lemon juice and garlic for a little bit before it cooks for 3 - 4 minutes. I also thought the amount of pepper in the grits was a little much for my taste. I think I'm going to cut the pepper down to 1/4 tsp. instead of 1/2 tsp. And I think I may increase the amount of Parmesan cheese slightly. I didn't leave the tails on the shrimp to help speed up the peeling process. All in all, I'd say this was a pretty good recipe, but I'm hoping with some adjustments it will be even better.
Reviewed Ultimate Coffee Cake
"This was my first recipe to make from Paula Deen and it was delicious. I ended up using dark brown sugar (since I was out of regular brown sugar) and it was still good and very rich tasting. I agree with another reviewer that after the rolls had time to rise, it was HUGE! I think I need to decrease the amount of time the rolls have to rise (I think I prepped it too early in the evening before I went to bed). My top rolls ended up getting really dark and hard while baking, so I placed a little bit of foil over them so they didn't get darker. Next time I make this, I'm going to put foil over it lightly so the rolls don't get too browned, and I am going to take a suggestion from another reviewer and try vanilla pudding mix. Yum!
