Reviewed Real Meatballs and Spaghetti

Jan 17, 2012 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

Review for Meatballs - Great! Being only two of us, wanted to only make half the meatball recipe. All measurements halved except I used the full egg and the meat was 1 lb. of Italian ground sausage. ""

Great recipe!!! Did take two suggestions made before 1) used Jimmy Dean's Sage Sausage instead of the Italian and 2) Made it the day before Thanksgiving up to the point of putting in the oven. On Thanksgiving day, brought to room tempature and baked according to instructions. This made for a great time saver on the actual day. ""

Great, easy recipe! Worked like a charm and the gravy is wonderful. In addition to the salt and pepper on the pork before searing, I did roll in rosemary and then sprinkled the roast with McCormicks Apple Pie spice, just a few shakes. Used apple cider instead of hard. Highly recommend if you are looking to impress. Don't question the cooking time...

If you have 'chewy cookie eaters' this is the one. Reading some of the other reviews I modified just a bit but do use bread flour. 1. Did NOT melt the butter, just brought it to room temperature
2. Used a Kitchen Aid to mix the wet 3. Added dry ingrediants to the wet by hand with wooden spoon -gets tough but will be okay
