We have been in a crock pot craze lately. I coated the meat in flour and added it and all other ingredients into a crock pot and set in on LOW for 8 hours. DELICIOUS! I'm eating the left overs right now :-)

I used all the same ingredient amounts, but using organic evaporated cane juice sugar and walnuts instead of pecans. I had no candy thermometer, and that whole sugar-in-the-water trick was NOT effective. I have cooked sugar before for flan, so I know when it starts to turn the color of Peanut Butter, that's the right time to get ready to take it off...

The directions said to stir for 10 min, it was a lot faster than that! I used all the same ingredient amounts, but using organic evaporated cane juice sugar and walnuts instead of pecans.
