My Activity

Reviewed Derby Sage Mac and Cheese with Ham

"Could not find Derby Cheddar anywhere, so I substituted Havarti, and added a lot of chopped fresh sage (at least 10 leaves). Still did not have a lot of sage flavor, but the ham was a good addition. Spinach added color, but not much flavor--good way to sneak vegatables into the hubby!"

Reviewed Pick-a-Pepper Pasta (Bucatini with Hot and Sweet and Pickled Peppers Sauce

"Only just OK, although I used sweet pickled peppers because I couldn't find the spicy ones. Will likely not make again--easier to buy sauce of this quality."

Reviewed Adirondack Bacon BBQ Chicken, Apples and Onions

"My favorite out of this episode (Count your Chickens)--really good, and not very mustard-y, despite the quantity. Will keep this recipe on hand for quick BBQ"

Reviewed Chicken and Mushrooms with Rigatoni

"Very good, but too thin. Made with canned tomatoes and home-canned tomato sauce, that may have been why. Will make again. "

Reviewed Chicken and Chorizo Spanish Enchiladas

"Pretty good--likely depends mostly on your chorizo. Here in MI, we're lucky if we can get Mexican chorizo, let alone Spanish, so I made it with the former. Made plenty for two meals for two people. Will likely make it again."
