“This recipe as written is tasteless, except what I did taste is the baking soda and shortening.... the only thing good about it was the cripyness from using the cast iron skillet and pre cooking on the stove first. Would I try it again, yes but substitute bacon grease and not add the baking soda or adjust this somehow."”

“This recipe was good, and easy enough to make but the directions don't indicate if you should peel the chilis after grilling and charing them. Mine were to firm (crunchy) after cooking them, either I didn't grill them long enough or they should be Peeled?
