Reviewed beer-marinated grilled skirt steak

I would have to agree with the other reviews about the lack of flavor in this dish. I made this tonight and it just tasted so bland. I would not recommend to anyone.

Reviewed garlic chicken and potatoes

Read other reviews about doneness of chicken and was concerned. Low and behold I found the perfect combo. When you add the chicken drop it down to 395 and cook for 22-23 minutes.

I took other's recommendations and added potatoes and beef broth and a bit more seasoning. Even with the adjustments it still didn't make the cut. It just lacks flavor.""

Reviewed Apricot Couscous

Mar 10, 2011 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

The best couscous dish we've ever had!! Followed the recipe to the T with whole wheat flour and cilantro and truly was delicious. It was so good, both my boyfriend and I ate the whole thing in under 5 minutes. Just be prepared that when you serve this that it will go very quickly. I recommend using slivered almonds too."

This was so easy, light, and healthy. I added a little lemon zest to the olive oil and garlic to give it additional flavor.

Reviewed Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Cookies

Jan 4, 2011 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

These cookies were unbelievable. I took the suggestion of others and added about 1/4 more of the pumpkin puree and added additional spice. These came out perfect! I would probably go against others and say these were not cake-like, mine came out really light. Make sure to definitely do 'heaping spoonfuls' on the cookie sheets, these cookies don't...

Reviewed Triple Chocolate Brownies with a Cinnamon Cream Cheese Icing

Jan 2, 2011 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

I made this the other night for a NYE dinner party I attended, and I would probably say this is one of the best desserts I think I've ever had. The Cinnamon Cream Cheese icing is definitely worth making. Please do not skip this step... The brownies are pretty typical brownies-nothing that really makes it over the top... But the frosting is what...

Reviewed Meatless Meatballs: Polpette di Lupo

Jan 2, 2011 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

I was really pleasantly surprised by this dish. The flavor is incredible!!! I took the advice of the other reviewer and placed the meatballs in the oven first for 10 minutes at 350 to dry the meatballs out a little bit and then placed them in the frying pan. I would argue with another reviewer that the sauce drowns out the flavor of the meatballs....

Reviewed Banana Cream Pie with Caramel Drizzles and Chocolate Sauce

Dec 6, 2010 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

I'm pretty annoyed with the directions for the pudding. I whisked the egg mix together until pale and fluffy and then added the 1 c. of cream and placed the egg mixture into the pan. Seven minutes later it wasn't coming close to getting fluffy. So, I placed the mixture in a bowl and hand mixed it for another five minutes and still nothing. Not...

Reviewed Pumpkin Banana Mousse Tart

Dec 1, 2010 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

I think this dessert had potential, but the orange zest was So Strong... I had a piece when it was first done refrigerating after 8 hours and a second one the next day, but the flavors just didn't come together as nicely as I would have liked. Probably wouldn't make this again.

Reviewed Honey Cornbread Muffins

Although this is really delicious cornbread, I was disappointed that the honey didn't stand out more. I would recommend adding more honey, maybe a 1/4 more.

Reviewed The Willows Raised Apple Pancake

Nov 21, 2010 in Food Network Community Toolbox on Food Network

I was disappointed in this recipe. I placed the skillet in the oven for 20 minutes and when I pulled it out it was still pretty undercooked. I left in the oven for another 10 minutes and it still was pretty gooey inside. I upped the temp. to 450 and left it in the oven for an additional 10 minutes. By that point the top was browning, but the pancake...

Reviewed Banana Bread

Oct 19, 2010 in Food Network Community Toolbox on Food Network

I took the suggestion of other reviews and added cinnamon and nutmeg and an additional banana and also cut the cook time down to roughly 57 minutes. This was my first attempt and making banana bread but I would probably recommend to begin watching the bread around the 50 minute mark. When I popped it out of the oven it was a little bit more on the...

Reviewed Raspberry Rose Pots de Creme

Oct 13, 2010 in Food Network Community Toolbox on Food Network

If there was the option to give 0 stars, this recipe would highly deserve it. After watching the show earlier today, I thought I would give it a shot. I read through the other reviews and questioned to make it with everyone being split... Man oh man this was a complete disaster. The flavor is terrible and the raspberry seeds just make for the...
