this is close to my Grandma's recipe from the old country. Fry the bacon, add the sugar, vinegar and onions to the grease (it will thicken). I was told that pepper is the key. I also increase the sauce to 1 1/2 to twice as much. Pour over potatoes, mix and enjoy. She did not use Dijon however.

This was very good and made a lot. One tip..when you add the mushroom and chicken into the sauce use a slotted spoon as to avoid getting all the liquid from the mushrooms into the sauce."
