My Activity

Reviewed Sweet and Sour Brisket

"This was delicious. Even my 4 year old went on and on about it. She loved the sauce and the meat was very tender. I used closer to 4 cloves of garlic, and because it had to share the oven for the beginning of cooking, it was at 350 for the first 45 minutes, and 300 for the remainder - close to 3 hours. Otherwise I prepared it exactly as written.""

Reviewed Old-Time Beef Stew

"Very Delicious! I did change it up a bit out of necessity and taste and next time I will probably double the spices....it needed a bit more kick. Here's what I did: I subbed beef broth for water and used about 3 cups total. I used frozen veggies (usually I sub fresh for frozen in a recipe but pressed for time today!) TJ's organic foursome w/ corn, peas, greenbeans & carrots. At the same time as the veggies I added 3/4 cup TJ's "teeny tiny potatoes" halved and about 3/4 cup roughly chopped baby bella mushrooms. Also, my package of beef weighed 1.5 lbs but I made up for it in veggies. Very hearty and nice. I'll spice it up a bit more next time. "

Reviewed Thai Chicken Soup

"Very delicious and easy to make. I made it exactly as written, but subbing light coconut milk for regular and red curry paste for green. It took me a while to prep - a lot of thin slicing...but someone with better knife skills could power through it. Once it's prepped it comes together very quickly. Even my 4 year old loved it. I served it with Trader Joe's Shrimp Gyoza and Gyoza dipping sauce. Yum.
