Reviewed Shrimp Scampi with Linguini

Nov 27, 2013 on FoodNetwork.com

Delicious and super easy! I followed the recipe exactly and it turned out perfect. The flavor is subtle but definitely a keeper!

But I made some changes for the leftovers (which wasn't much!): I added 1 slice of diced proscuitto and a clove of minced garlic to the skillet with 1 tsp. olive oil...and sauted for 2-3 min. over...

My 12 yr. old daughter came across this recipe tonight so we gave it a try. Unfortunately, it didn't turn out like we hoped. I double checked our prep, ingredients and everything, but that wasn't the problem. Overall it was way too oily and it didn't work well with the pasta we served it with. However, the shrimp were good and absorbed the spic"

Reviewed Prosciutto and Goat Cheese Bruschetta with Black Lentils

May 1, 2013 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

I decided to post again because I swear I'm addicted to this recipe now! I made it for a ladies luncheon a few weeks ago and discovered I didn't have enough goat's cheese, so a guest suggested using the garlic and herb cheese spread I had...and it was huge success (however, I did omit the lentils this time). I've also tried it with plain Philly "

These are delicious! I didn't find them too salty...but I only had unsalted butter on hand, so that might have helped. A good quality proscuitto is important as well.

I made a 2nd batch and added my own twist: I sprinkled a mixture of breadcrumbs and parmigiana cheese on top before baking. SUPER yummy either way, and they were...

Apr 28, 2013 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

I'm not a big fan of flank steak, but I saw a nice looking one on sale and decided to give this recipe a try because of the quick prep time. The flavor was fantastic and my guests devoured it! I had to leave it on the grill a few minutes longer for the kids (it was too rare for their preference). I will be making this again!"

Really delicious! As others recommended, I will use low sodium next time (I love salty foods, but my kids thought it a bit much). Serving over plain white rice helped. Oh, and I used regular sugar, added some onion chunks...and grilled them instead of using the oven. The lightly charred taste and grill marks made it even better! So glad to h"

Reviewed Beer Battered Onion Rings

Apr 19, 2013 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

They were crispy and perfect and the onions didn't pull through the batter after frying (I hate when that happens)....but my kids thought they lacked flavor, so I added a little more salt and a dash of cayenne pepper to the dry mix. I didn't have time to make the dip, but I will definitely give this recipe a try again!"

Delicious!! Followed it as written and it was perfect. Then I saw 2 strips of applewood smoked bacon leftover from breakfast and decided to crumble it on top. Even more awesome! I served this with slices of grilled French bread (drizzled w/ olive oil and pinch of thyme...then toasted on the griddle). The mini crock pot works great for keeping"

Mar 25, 2013 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

Fabulous! The kids really enjoyed the prepping (we seek out recipes that have moderate to difficult prep work, but this was pretty easy)....and I was happy that we had all of the ingredients on hand. The gravy is so delicious and creamy and we all loved the mild kick of the cayenne! The girls agreed that this goes on our "favorites" list.

I usually love Rachel's recipes, but this one bombed at my house big time. I had to throw out the entire pan (I thought the kids would like it with the added sugar...but that combined with the taste of vinegar were a NO...me included). And we love green beans in every shape and form. We love trying new things...so maybe next time I'll try it w"

Delicious!! My 12 yr. old daughter found this recipe on the iPad so we tried it. She loves cheese, so we added freshly grated aged Parmesan Romano at the end. We served it over spaghetti noodles with a side of ciabatta bread. We both went back for seconds and fought over the remaining sauce! I didnt feel it needed thickened...but the only o...
