My Activity

Reviewed Sweet Potato Pie

"So creamy and wonderful. I followed the recipe exactly, except I made my own recipe for marshmallow-whipped cream for the topping. I used the candied pecans, and they were just a wonderful addition with a crunchy texture that this pie really benefitted from. I don't think I will ever make a pumpkin pie again!""

Reviewed Gumbo

"Wonderful! Not as difficult as I had anticipated. I was scared of the intense amount of garlic this recipe calls for, but it is perfect. California boy knows his gumbo! Thank you Mr. Fieri!"

Reviewed Marinara Sauce

"I love this recipe! I'm always looking for ways to sneak veggies into my 2 year old's diet and this is a winner for me! As written I think it's a bit bland, so when I make it for my family I add an extra garlic clove and some italian seasonings to kick it up a bit. I made this the first time to go with Giada's Beef and 3 cheese manicotti and it was wonderful. I made more so that I could freeze it for future meals, but I added some zuchinni and cremini mushrooms to make it a bit more hearty. This will be my 'go-to' marinara sauce recipe from now on. See ya later Prego! Thanks Giada!"

Reviewed Banana Crunch Muffins

"My muffins are in the oven as I type this review. I am being hasty because I tasted the batter and it was wonderful, so if anything doesn't turn out it is because of my struggles as a baker! I made a few modifications of my own, I used pecans instead of walnuts because my family is allergic to walnuts. I also grated a little fresh nutmeg in with my dry ingredients prior to sifting them together, because I like a spiced muffin. I also whipped together a streusel with chopped pecans, brown sugar, flour, and melted butter and topped the muffins with them prior to putting them in the oven. They smell delicious, as I'm certain they will be! Thanks Ina!!"

Reviewed Apple-Nut Muffins with Streusel Topping

"I loved these! Several of my family members are allergic to nuts so I left them out of the muffins. Instead of nuts in the streusel topping, I substituted finely ground up pretzels. Next time I make them, I will use tin liners so they don't stick. I also only cooked mine for 15 minutes, and they were perfect. These would be great for a brunch, or a breakfast. "

Reviewed Cinnamon Sugar Fry Bread

"I love these! To make them easier for my two-year old to handle, I cut the dough into strips and then into 1-1/2'' pieces so they were bite size. They're also great with a little icing. How can you go wrong with deep fried sugar-topped bread dipped into more sugar?? :)

Reviewed Macaroni and Cheese

"This is the only Mac and Cheese my husband will eat anymore. I love this recipe with my whole heart...clogged arteries and all. I added a bit of garlic and onion powder in the sauce. I use a cheddar/pepper jack cheese blend sometimes, or a cheddar/smoked mozz blend depending on how I'm feeling.

Reviewed Tony's Chocolate Pecan Pie

"I have decided that the Neely's know how to do desserts! The only thing I changed was I toasted my pecans for a few minutes because I like how it makes them taste.
