I made a vegan version of this for Thanksgiving (substituting with Veggie Crumbles and Egg Replacer), which was just requested again--a week later--by both my husband and son. A winner in this house!

AMAZING. I have been using this recipe for two years--logged in today to print I up again, as my original copy finally wore out. Don't hesitate to add herbs (even CHEESE!) at appropriate times in the process. Also, play with shapes for the dough. Tailor the bread for the dinner ("Did someone say soup?") you'll serve. Considering this was called a "money-saving meal," I thought it was amazing. I've made this twice already; that says something. We're a vegetarian family, so I always substitute a soy product for the beef. Works great.
