My Activity

Reviewed Roast Pork Loin with Applesauce

"YUMMY!! i didn't ave any celery or thyme, so i added a parsnip, shallot, some rosemary and parsley. I also added some more wine and chix stock to the pan half way thru cooking time as the veggies were drying up.

will be adding to the regular lineup!

Reviewed Buttermilk Mashed Potatoes

"these were very tasty indeed. made them for a weeknight dinner (scaled the recipe back some) and busted out the food mill. i was reminded why i never use the damn food mill...that thing is a pain in the ass!! i can't imagine using it on thanksgiving - while 100 other things are being finished and 25 starving people are staring at you!

will keep the recipe (really, just adding buttermilk to regular mash), but will be using the kitchenaid :-)

Reviewed Flour's Famous Banana Bread

"FAB!! from the batter (yes, i know i tasted raw batter), to the heavenly smell looming from the oven to the very first bite!

i followed the recipe 'almost' exactly: i made in 4 mini loaf pans (no matter what, when i make breads like these, the center always takes forever to cook in a regular loaf pan - causing the outside to become too brown/toasty for my taste), and i baked on confection and reduced heat to 325. total cooking time approx 33 minutes. i also only put the toasted nuts in half.

YUMMY!
