My Activity

Reviewed Snake Bites

"I have made this "sandwich" for the past 4 years as well. Our friends hold an annual pumpkin carving party and we all contribute a dish. This always the first to disappear! I have so much fun painting the snake to give it personality!

About Me

I was a teacher for 15 years and recently, I joined a very large, global software corporation as a technical writer. I guess one could say my inspiration for cooking comes from a background in art! I love texture, color, harmony, and balance. These artistic elements are so parallel to cooking, with the added bonus of taste!

I love when a TV chef can teach me something or introduce me to a new idea or ingrediant. I don't like when a personality comes off as having the "best" technique and hinting that if you don't do things their way, then you must be doing it wrong. As a former teacher, I know there is more than one way to get the right answer!

Favorite Foods

One of my favorites to cook with is eggplant. I am very interested in Indian food and currently I am exploring the spices, sauces, and main ingrediants in these recipes. When we go out for a meal, I typically try things I know I wouldn't make at home. Rarely do we eat out for Italian. I am 1/2 Italian and my granmother made the BEST meatballs!
