Reviewed Slow Cooked Cuban Sandwich

Dec 5, 2012 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

The pulled pork was so flavorful. Easy to make and the smells made me anticipate dinner all day! Served the pork on Hawaiian rolls with mustand and pickles. Will definitely make this again and again."

Reviewed Pasta alla Formiana

Dec 4, 2012 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

Very saucy and flavorful. I did cut oregano to just over one Tablespoon. And I added parm on top of pasta before adding tomatoes and on top of tomatoes once it came out of the oven. When I heated up leftovers, I mixed in chopped pepperoni. Wow, what an addition. I will add some meat (sausage, pepperoni) next time I make."

I am IN LOVE with this recipe. The drizzle is SO good; glad I have leftovers to add to more ham, chicken, etc. The biscuits were very tasty too. Thank you, Jeff. You are the Sandwich King!"

Reviewed Cold Cauliflower Soup with Bacon and Croutons

Reviewed Turkey, Kale and Brown Rice Soup

Mar 24, 2012 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

Made this soup tonight for dinner. The turkey is a lighter meat than beef and works well in this soup. I did use a whole pound of ground turkey. I love kale and it was a great addition to the soup. Next time I might add garlic, although the soup had a great flavor. Can't wait for leftovers tomorrow!""

Reviewed Three Cheesesteak Sandwiches

Mar 22, 2012 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

My husband gives this recipe "an easy 5 stars." A great and easy to make meal. I did omit the American cheese (not a fan) and used a little cheddar instead. We made some sandwiches with Provolone and some with Mozzarella--both very tasty. I used a pound of sirloin and a large onion; plenty to go around. Will make this meal again soon.""

Reviewed Chinese Turkey Salad

Mar 11, 2012 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

Wow! The poached turkey had so much great flavor. The dressing also was very tasty. The salad came together easily. This recipe makes a huge amount of salad. I put the peppers, scallions, and almonds in small bowls, then the lettuce and cabbage in a big bowl. I used a whole red pepper; lots of leftovers so I will slice another scallion to even ou...

Reviewed Three-Cheese Potato Gratin

Mar 7, 2012 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

An amazing dish! Watched the show, printed out the recipe, and headed to the store to buy the cheeses and cream. I had plenty of potatoes and onions. I did substitute dried thyme for the fresh--when my herbs come back in late spring I will use fresh. Not a lot of leftovers (hubby loved the dish). It's on my list to make again soon.""

Reviewed Free Range Fruitcake

Mar 1, 2012 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

I'm usually a fruitcake hater and I love this recipe! We left out the candied ginger and zest (and one batch left out the nuts b/c hubby doesn't like nuts). So delicious. Give it a try!""

Reviewed Grilled Scallops with Orange-Scented Quinoa

Feb 24, 2012 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

Reviewed Goat Cheese and Thyme Crackers

Oct 12, 2011 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

These crackers were not too crackery, but I liked the texture. I should have doubled the recipe. We ate them all with the Fish & Fennel Stew. Easy to make (I didn't even use a mixer, just mixed by hand.) and they baked up well. Got to use my own thyme.""

Both versions turned out well. My husband ate 5 of the cupcakes! The only difficult part was finding the cloves to remove them. I think I will remove them ...
