My Activity

Reviewed Onion Dip from Scratch

"Almost as easy as opening a container AND much tastier. It gets better the longer it sits. I caramelized my onions in garlic infused olive oil and it's amazing. I can't stand mayonnaise, but didn't taste it at all. SO good."

"I watch Alton religiously but tend to avoid making his recipes, as I'm generally put off by the rare ingredients he calls for as well as the fact that the majority of his measurements are by weight, not volume (I haven't invested in a kitchen scale. However, I threw caution to the wind on this one after watching Fermentation Nation because it loo"

Reviewed Blue Cheese and Cress Beef Wellingtons with Broiled Tomatoes, Parsley-Dill Potatoes and Broccolini Spears

"This was SUCH an easy (and elegant! Christmas Eve dinner!!! I made the beef wellingtons only, and none of the sides. I even made them ahead, cooked them as directed, and froze them. I thawed them, then reheated them gently, and they came right back to life. Since not everyone in my family enjoys beef, I also made chicken "wellies" with Granny Smith apples and brie cheese. Those turned out equally well, and everyone raved about them.

"SUCH a unique flavor combination, and extremely addictive. I make this for all my Christmas parties and, this year, I'm making it to give as gifts, as well.

Reviewed Dragon's Breath Chili

"This is my now award winning chili recipe. On my 2nd attempt, ever, at making chili (the 1st being an ill-advised vegetarian crockpot chili recipe some Halloweens ago), I literally won a chili cookoff at my worplace against some pretty good cooks; including the department's reigning cookoff champion. There was a good deal of prep work, granted, and the potency of some of the peppers terrified me, but I needn't have worried. Absolutely delicious, with a complex blend of flavors that worked miracles together. Thanks, Guy!!!
