Fast, easy and delicious. As other reviewers have noted, you can easily make this your own based on ingredient availability and preferences. I departed from the original recipe as follows: (1) used regular white onion instead of red (1 small), (2) omitted the whole beans from the meat mixture (didn't have any), (2) added 2 cloves minced garlic to...

Solid addition to our Sunday night dinner. I doubled the recipe - plan to make soup with the leftovers.

Top notch recipe - no changes to suggest. Just two of us tonight, so I made the full amount of broth (removed half to freeze for another time) but used only half the amount of seafood. Easy and restaurant quality. I look forward to adding seafood to the saved broth in future for an instant gourmet dinner.

This is a great recipe. As one reviewer pointed out, this is essentially chicken in stewed tomatoes. However, the tomatoes are "home stewed" with some great addtiions including wine, peppers, herbs, and proscuitto. It is a great make ahead dish for busy weeknights (and I'm quite sure guests would like it too). I made some brown rice ahead of time...

Reviewed old-fashioned apple crisp

Feb 10, 2014 on FoodNetwork.com

A solid crisp recipe - guests enjoyed it (served with vanilla ice cream). The flavour of the apple mixture was perfect, but I think I would use a firmer apple next time. I cut the apples in large wedges as specified but they still became quite mushy. Although the topping was fine, I prefer a crumble topping with more oats and the addition of nuts....

Great recipe. Procedural changes: (1) To speed things up, after cooking the bacon, I put half of the fat in a cast iron skillet, which I used to brown the beef. That allowed me to start the vegetables in the main skillet. Re the flamb, Ina wasn't kidding when she said stand back when you light the match - that fire was huge. Be warned. (2)...

Reviewed Chicken with Mustard Mascarpone Marsala Sauce

Nov 3, 2013 on FoodNetwork.com

This was incredible. I had leftover mascarpone and marsala from another recipe (a good problem to have) so this was perfect. I followed the recipe as written, other than using shallots (which I also happened to have on hand) in place of some of the onion, and adding a bit of dried hot pepper flakes to give it a punch. I also went easy on butter...

Absolutely delicious! I had some cooked chicken breast on hand, which made this very easy. I diversified the vegetables (sweated some diced carrots after the onion had cooked for a bit, added about 1 Tbsp grated ginger when adding the garlic, and added some broccoli flowerets at the last couple of minutes once the peppers were almost cooked and "

Feb 24, 2013 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

This is up there with one of the best salads I have ever had. Thankfully, a few reviewers spoke to the excess of oil in the dressing, and I reduced it to 1/4 cup with great results. Note to those of you having difficulty reducing the cider mixture: don't take the words "small pot" too literally. A little surface area helps greatly with evaporati"

This is a great base recipe that can easily be adapted to your tastes. After reading the reviews, I decided to make the vinaigrette as specified (even the 2 tsp salt, which I was thinking would be too much). After tasting it, I decided to add a spoonful of Dijon mustard and a couple of minced garlic, and I was very happy with the result. I don'"

An excellent base recipe. I used 2 garlic, gently heated diced cooked chicken breast and frozen peas in the cheesey sauce, kept a little more pasta water than called for on hand to loosen the sauce a bit more as needed. Added fresh basil and freshly ground pepper at the end. Delicious."
