"Skip the beet, it is not authentic for the flavor and does nothing for the dish. Use mushrooms sliced on the long side instead (worked for me). Also suggest mix "dressing" in separate bowl until you get the desired taste and thickness. Also, easier to toss and let marinate in large ziplock bag. "

Learned to cook from my mother. Knife skills may need some work, but the finished producted tastes great. Enjoy cooking for friends/family. I have had cooking classes to supplement the home learning experience. Mothers & grandmothers please get your kids in the kitchen and right your recipes down. Addicted to Food Network: Top Chef, Ace of Cakes, Iron Chef, Chopped, and the multitude of talented cooks' shows to watch.
