"I know why everyone is getting cake instead of brownies. You never melt butter when baking. You cut in the room temp butter into a bowl of all the dry ingredients. Then you mix all the wet ingredients into a separate bowl and then mix them together. The mix should be thick and somewhat grainy. And don't bake longer than 30 mins. Do this and your brownies should come out perfectly chewy!
