Replied to sunny's quick chilled carrot soup

One more thing... it made for a nice hostess gift, served up in a quart-sized mason jar. She asked for the recipe!

Great idea! Made it yesterday and used items I had on hand (fresh carrots, onions, regular nutmeg and paprika, added a little red pepper flakes, and subbed out honey for syrup, yogurt for crme fraiche, and mixed it up on the "soup" setting of my blender, so it came out warm. Brought it to a party and served it out of Dixie cups. Big winner. Thanks...

My family loves these, as does my DOG! He's addicted. Gave him little tiny bites without the chocolate, of course. Need to experiment with the recipe so that I can give him more without guilt... omit the butter, sugar, and honey, add coconut oil and coconut. Any other suggestions?

PALEO - Update on my 7/8 review... made it tonight for my hubby who's on the Paleo diet... no dairy, no carbs. Instead of cheese and bread crumbs on top, I sprinkled a thin layer of Trader Joe's (west coast store) almond meal - which is just finely ground almonds. He LOVED it... said he liked it better than the original version. I did reduce th"

Makes a great gift, especially as part of a gift basket, especially as a housewarming, hostess, or holiday gift when you don't want to spend a lot but just give something special. I gave mini mason jars to friends and family one year, and kept a nice supply for myself. My favorite way to enjoy is just to add a spoonful to my regular coffee with "

DELICIOUS AND EASY. Made enough for us, and enough to share with the grandparents... NO LEFTOVERS! Love the texture and taste, and the sauce is just creamy enough. One suggestion: on reheating, don't cover with tin foil because you want to keep the topping nice and crusty. Also, I had to sub with half red onions because I didn't have enough bro"

OMG!!!! This is THE BEST way to make chicken, hands down. Not only is the chicken moist and tasty throughout, but the sauce makes everything else on the plate taste wonderful. I'm addicted. And EASY! Right after I made this the first time a year or so ago, I was delayed at a baseball game and my 14-y-o daughter offered to start dinner for me. I"

Thank you Alton. Simple, easy, quick. Always looking for good recipes i can follow with things i have on hand. The frozen ones are easier but we run out often and i wonder about what "else"they have in them. The ones i made this morning were soggy and gray...i will try the drying and rinsing next timer. But what's a tea towel? "

This is a really fun, attractive, and efficient way to serve breakfast. I think the critics are kind of missing the point...it's not so much a recipe as it is a serving idea. Just cook up your favorite breakfast dishes and then layer them in a bowl for serving. I just did hash browns, bacon, and cheesy scrambled eggs. Instead of one big bowl, ever"

My hubby made this recipe and took it to our neighborhood chili cookoff yesterday. It won 2nd place!!! Deliciously simple, and edible to pretty much everyone. My husband likes his a bit more spicy, but you can always pump it up as desired, or serve hot sauce on the side. For me, it would be the perfect chili for adding to things... like hot do"

Super easy and delicious. I'm always buying zucchini and then throwing them away when they get old & mushy. That will not happen again now that I've found a great recipe to use them in. This recipe is a keeper. Hubby loved them, but said they would be better with some kind of sauce. Any suggestions???"

Fantastic! Wouldn't change a thing. I did use red wine vinegar because I like it and didn't have any champagne. Also used course dijon instead of the smooth Ina used on the video. Made the croutons out of a pre-sliced loaf of Trader Joe's cracked wheat sourdough bread, and it turned out great. Hubby and I both think this would be great to bri...
