Reviewed Texas Roadhouse Copycat Cinnamon Butter

Nov 26, 2014 in on

I think this recipe is perfect as is! Texas Roadhouse puts honey in their *rolls*, not in their cinnamon butter. So you might want to try the copy cat recipe that includes 1/2-cup honey in the dough ingredients if you';re missing that distinctive honey flavor."

So delicious! I like to "up" the protein content by using plain Greek yogurt, and have added protein powder as well. Also, you can cut back to one tablespoon of maple syrup (or honey, agave, or even orange juice concentrate) by adding a frozen banana, which sweetens *and* thickens the smoothie, as well as adding additional fiber, vitamin B6, vitamin...

For those who insist on using creamy mashed potatoes, you *might* have some success if you mix dried potato flakes or potato starch into your potatoes to stiffen them up, and then freeze them for 15-20 minutes after flouring the patties.

The key, as Sara states in her introduction to this recipe, is that your mashed potatoes can't have extra butter or milk in them. They need to be a drier consistency. This recipe will not turn out as written if you are trying to make it with whipped potatoes, instant mashed potatoes, or extra creamy, buttery mashed potatoes. But if you start with...

If you don't like using pre-packaged mixes, then why are you watching a show that's based on recipes using pre-packaged ingredients? Don't like them? Fine. Nobody's forcing you to use them, or to watch this show, or to use the recipe review as your own personal platform to gripe about them.

She wasn't cooking for other people; she was preparing a meal for herself. Are you saying it's not ok to double dip into your own food?! You must use a heck of a lot of forks and spoons when you eat.

And in this show, she was cooking for herself alone! Since when is it not ok to double dip into your own food??!

Paula Deen, who regularly used to take huge bites and then start talking with her mouth still full of food? NO THANK YOU. I'd much rather see someone double dip or drink from a bottle than see partially-chewed food in their open mouths while they're telling us how good it is. Yuck indeed!

Very true, although she *is* a food service professional and a former caterer. Presumably, she didn't make a practice of double-dipping when she ran her catering business. But I think the crucial point everyone has missed is that she was not cooking for other people; this show was about food she prepared for herself alone. So why wouldn't you double...

FYI: If it's got pickles or relish in it, it's Thousand Island dressing, but if not, it's Russian dressing. We grew up on homemade Russian dressing, and for years, it was my older sister's favorite. Thanks for bringing back happy memories! :-)

Per the mousse directions: "Add the 3 EGG YOLKS to the chocolate, 1 by 1, beating with a whisk until incorporated." So obviously, you DO use the egg yolks in this mousse.

It is a recipe for slow-cooked chicken. It tastes like CHICKEN. Not sure why people are complaining about it tasting "bland". Did you see curry or chilies or ginger on the ingredients list? No. So of COURSE it's going to taste like simple, ordinary roast chicken. So to sum up: If you are looking for a chicken recipe that tastes like something other...

Reviewed Perfect Chocolate Chip Cookies (America's Test Kitchen)

This has been my go-to choc chip cookie recipe for a while, and everyone who tries "my" cookies says it's the best choc chip cookie they've ever tasted. The only thing I alter is (and in my opinion, it makes a big difference) is that I use 1/2 cup each of the Ghirardelli 60% cacao chips, the Ghirardelli milk choc chips, and the Ghirardelli s...
