My Activity

Reviewed Creamy Baked Chicken and Wild Rice Casserole

"This was the first of Sunny Anderson's recipes that I've ever made and my only regret is that I haven't made any of hers earlier than now. My plan was to follow the recipe to the letter but I was out of bread and manufactured bread crumbs so I used crackers in place of bread crumbs AND being that it's impossible to find wild rice in Florida, I cu"

Reviewed All American Beef Taco

"Taco Potion #19 has been my go to taco seasoning for a few years now. "

Reviewed Chicken and Dumplings

"Make sure that you love the poultry seasoning that you use for this recipe, the one I used just had too much sage for my taste. If I make this recipe again I will definitly make it for a crowd because the steamed dumplings just don't reheat well enough for left overs. But other wise I am sure it would be great for a football gathering on a Sunda""

Reviewed Red Beans and Rice

"Any excuse to cook with sausage! I followed this recipe almost to the letter however, I used spicy sausage and a little more than a pinch of cayenne. -Which isn't that much of an adjustment.- The result was delicious! I served it over steamed rice and used a bit of "Louisiana brand Hot Sauce" at the table. I will make this again in the future ""

Reviewed Sloppy Veg-Head Joe

"The recipe needs a bit of adustment in my opinion, I found the end result to lack depth. I added a bay leaf for body and a lb of ground turkey for soul and to please my meat and potatoes man. I will use the recipe again however I will omit the brown sugar and use the recipe as a base to healthier Sloppy Joes with ground ground turkey.""

Reviewed Honey Brined Smoked Turkey

"I used this brine recipe last year for Thanksgiving and we loved it so much we put it in our "Thanksgiving Check List". Although we didn't smoke the turkey for lack of smoking capabilities, roasting the turkey in the oven was completely successful and we will use this brine again I am sure. ""

Reviewed Mexican Lasagna

"I made this recipe but used it as a guide. My husband isn't a fan of bottled taco sauce so I browned the ground chicken with a yellow onion (they were already in the fridge and I didn't have to buy them!) and used AB's taco seasoning for the meat. I added the corn and black beans as directed but added a little more tomatoes because I love them! ""

About Me

Cooking good food for my friends and family makes me happy.    When someone cooks something that I have never made myself, I usually try to make it for myself and try to make it differently or better if possible.  However, sometimes, you just have to bow down to someone else's greatness.

Favorite Foods

I love the simplicity and versatility of a slow cooked pork shoulder.  Once prepared in a Dutch Oven, you can do so many different things with it from tacos, to "BBQ" pulled pork sandwiches, simple pasta and what ever else your imagination can come up with.
