I agree with skadoodle55...why in the world do people rate a recipe without even TRYING it?! Makes no sense and messes up the rating score for the chef!

This recipe turned out WONDERFULLY for me....I took them out of the oven about 3 minutes early and let them sit. Mine weren't dry at all, and not too chocolaty. LOVED!

These are "Cowboy BACON Beans", not Cowboy BAKED Beans! If you're looking for baked beans, use a baked bean recipe or you'll be disappointed! These are NOT baked beans in the traditional sense....and they are DELISH! I always soak my beans overnight out of habit, so undercooked beans weren't a problem. Loved them!"

I'm not getting why people think this is "bland"...it's cornbread, plain and simple. If you want "flavor", add herbs or jalapenos! As a great component to a hearty chili or beef stew, this is great. We loved it with our ham and beans! "
