Love it!!! You can find these at any church dinner, family reunion, and baby shower south of the Mason Dixon Line and east of the Mississippi. Minimal ingredients + simple directions = delicious results. What more could you ask for?"

I'm tickled pink to see this recipe on FN's website! I'm an Alabama girl, and the only difference between Trisha's and my Mama's mashed potatoes is that Mama's (now my recipe) call for Yukon Gold potatoes. I think this recipe is an excellent example of traditional Southern cooking - most specifically the Deep South/Southeastern regions. Good stick"

*The recipe for house seasoning here is incorrect. It should read 1/2 cup salt, 1/4 cup black pepper, 1/4 cup garlic powder.* I'm guessing that previous reviewers complaining about "too salty" followed this incorrect recipe for house seasoning. That said this roast is fabulous. No sauce was needed at my house. My brother-in-law ate on it all day ...

This recipe is sinfully good and ridiculously simple. The first batch I made without nuts or raisins, and it was completely gone within 2 hrs! Now, I've made it twice more - once with raisins and once with pecans and they were even bigger hits than the first recipe. I've had two of my aunts, both excellent cooks, and my sister ask for the recipe....

As I read over the recipe I thought..."ranch dip mix prepared according to package directions??" The other - one - reviewer is right, another typo! DO NOT prepare dip according to package directions. Mix two teaspoons dry dip mix - straight out of the packet - with mayo and yolks. They're very good, if you like ranch dressing/dip flavor. The kids "

If you don't like "gooey" cookies and/or the taste of cake mix - which is the MAIN ingredient - don't make these. That said, this recipe is easy and versatile. I followed Paula's recipe exactly and these cookies were delicious. So many others have posted helpful reviews with substitution suggestions, etc. Thank you for your help. Anyone that can...

This recipe is a classic. The only changes I made were adding 4 small roughly cubed Idaho potatoes @ the same time as the carrots and celery, and adding one can of sweet peas for about the last 10 minutes of simmering. Delicious!!
