Reviewed Spicy Chard Soup Recipe : Food Network Kitchen : Food Network

3 days ago on FoodNetwork.com

This recipe needs to be re-introduced. Found this recipe by accident looking for nutritious recipes. OMG, the best thing I've made in a long time, and the measurements are correct, which is not always the case. I will be making this for the rest of my life. At first, I thought, "this is a bit spicy," but, no, I kept craving the next bite. I have...

Replied to Easy Gazpacho & Goat Cheese Croutons Recipe : Ina Garten : Food Network

P.S. to my earlier review. I taking this recipe down several stars. 1/2 Cup red wine vinegar was WAY too much, and it ruined this otherwise lovely recipe. My soup tastes like vinegar...throwing it out.

I made this exactly as Ina's recipe, thinking the whole time, "this is too much salt," etc., but the recipe was perfect. The ONLY thing I changed was substituting a small jalapeno, seeded) for the red pepper flakes, which I think are overused and I am not a fan of. This is already absolutely delicious, and I just now put it in the frig. Can't wait...

In a hurry...have a lot going on, so I will probably get ripped for this, but I watched Damaris' new program yesterday...I LOVE HER! It's bitterly cold here today and I'm hungry and too tired to chop veggies, etc., so I bought Wick Fowler's 2 Alarm Chili, added 1 can of tomato sauce, substituted ground turkey for the beef, and added 1-1/2 light beers...

Reviewed Snapper with Fennel, Onion and Tomato

Sep 15, 2013 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

Cooked w/ fennel for the first time...love it, but next time I'm going to saute it for less time--would prefer it with a bit of crunch. Used Tilapia. Bought the ingredients in a hurry at the grocery store from memory and forgot the Herbs de Provence (probably essential), so I used 1/2 tsp. of Poultry Seasoning instead which had most of the same "

Made this for brunch today. Easy? I guess so, but so much preparation.

Was worried about the fish sauce taste being too strong--did add extra, and when I first tasted it I thought it was a bit bland, even with the chili powder. However, the more I ate, the more I appreciated the fresh, simple taste of the dish.

What...

Made mini-sliders from this. Love her recipe for the onions, but I felt like the recipe was really lacking something...i.e., thousand island dressing. Making again tonight but will add the thousand island dressing."

Reviewed Spicy Pop Pulled Pork

Reviewing this again with a higher rating. Made this again yesterday, but I used pork shoulder steaks and only used 1/4 can of Chipotles w/ sauce. This suits my taste better than the ultra spicy whole can version. I made sliders topped w/ a simple coleslaw and added the juice from the pork which I strained to add the right amount of zing."

Reviewed Potato-Leek Soup With Bacon

Feb 10, 2012 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

Made this yesterday and just finished the last of it all by myself, so I'd say this is pretty good! The two cups of water listed in the body of the recipe, but not in the ingredient list, is obviously an error. Followed the recipe, except that I used four potatoes instead of two; left the water OUT and it was still thin; used half and half inst...

Jan 20, 2012 in Food Network Community Toolbox on FoodNetwork.com

Glad I waited to review this recipe. Made it the first time Sunday, and it leaked so much it ruined a brand-new cookie sheet. Made it again today with the Pillsbury pie crust I had left (will try the pie crust recipe at a later date), cooked all of the ingredients together for a couple of minutes (adding just a touch of cider, cinnamon, and but...

Peeled and sliced the potatoes in rounds and cut the recipe in half. Some of the reviews said there was too much liquid, but I found I needed a bit more for half the recipe. Also added some garlic and onion powder. These were okay...not fantastic. I think the potatoes need to be par-boiled first to take some of the rawness out. I've done Satu...

After watching Saturday's show, I went to the grocery store Sunday and bought all I needed to make everything from that episode. I'm divorced and live alone, so I bought...

Followed the recipe exactly except for adding a few red pepper flakes and served it over rice. It really hit the spot! Had it last night and again today for lunch, but think I will freeze the remaining two servings for my next craving. Love Marcela. What is that "76" next to my city, because it's certainly NOT my age!"
